Roaster & Roastee Profile

Howard Cosell

The unmistakable voice of sports television could turn an introduction, an argument or a roast line into an event all by itself.

Cosell’s deliberate cadence, blunt opinions and celebrity status made him unusually effective on a comedy dais. In the current collection he takes aim at stars ranging from Muhammad Ali and Dean Martin to Bob Hope, Bette Davis, Danny Thomas and Telly Savalas.
