Roaster & Roastee Profile

Orson Welles

With a commanding baritone and a reputation as Hollywood’s boy genius, Welles could make even a roast line sound like a Shakespearean pronouncement.

Welles revolutionized radio, theater and film before becoming a frequent guest on the Dean Martin roasts, where his grand delivery and self-aware humor gave the dais an unexpected touch of gravitas. This page collects every current clip in which he appears.
