About this clip
Alan King Roasts Don Rickles - Friars Club
Alan King was a popular stand-up comedian and frequent Friars Club participant, known for observational jokes and a rapid-fire delivery. Don Rickles was the master insult comic whose rapid-fire put-downs made him a feared and beloved fixture at celebrity roasts.
In this clip, Alan King turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Don Rickles with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
