About this clip

Mort Sahl Roasts Ralph Nader

Mort Sahl was a pioneering political satirist whose conversational, topical stand-up style helped reshape American comedy in the 1950s and 1960s. Ralph Nader is a consumer advocate, author and public figure whose reform campaigns and serious public image made him an unusual but recognizable comedy target.

In this clip, Mort Sahl turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Ralph Nader with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
