About this clip
Vivian Vance Roasts Lucille Ball
Vivian Vance was an Emmy-winning actress best known as Ethel Mertz on I Love Lucy and as Lucille Ball’s indispensable comic partner. Lucille Ball was one of television comedy’s defining stars, celebrated for I Love Lucy, fearless physical comedy and impeccable timing.
In this clip, Vivian Vance turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Lucille Ball with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
