About this clip
Audrey Meadows Roasts Hank Aaron
Audrey Meadows was the sharp, poised actress who played Alice Kramden on The Honeymooners and became one of television comedy’s best-known straight women. Hank Aaron was one of baseball’s greatest hitters, celebrated for breaking Babe Ruth’s career home-run record and for his quiet, dignified public presence.
In this clip, Audrey Meadows turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Hank Aaron with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
