About this clip
Audrey Meadows Roasts Rowan and Martin
Audrey Meadows was the sharp, poised actress who played Alice Kramden on The Honeymooners and became one of television comedy’s best-known straight women. Dan Rowan and Dick Martin were the comedy team behind Rowan & Martin’s Laugh-In, mixing deadpan hosting with rapid-fire sketches and topical jokes.
In this clip, Audrey Meadows turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Rowan and Martin with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
