About this clip
Foster Brooks Roasts Ted Knight
Foster Brooks was a comic actor whose signature “lovable drunk” routine turned slurred dignity, delayed reactions and mock seriousness into a classic roast persona. Ted Knight was an actor and comedian best known for his Emmy-winning role as pompous anchorman Ted Baxter on The Mary Tyler Moore Show.
In this clip, Foster Brooks turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Ted Knight with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
