About this clip
Norm Crosby Roasts Jack Benny
Norm Crosby was a comedian famous for comic malapropisms, deliberately mangling familiar words and expressions with impeccably straight-faced delivery. Jack Benny was one of radio and television’s defining comedians, famous for exquisite timing and a comic persona built around vanity, stinginess and age jokes.
In this clip, Norm Crosby turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Jack Benny with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
