About this clip

Don Rickles Roasts Carroll O'Connor

Don Rickles was the master insult comic whose rapid-fire put-downs made him a feared and beloved fixture at celebrity roasts. Carroll O’Connor was the acclaimed actor best known as Archie Bunker on All in the Family, a role that made him one of television’s most recognizable stars.

In this clip, Don Rickles turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Carroll O'Connor with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
