About this clip

Foster Brooks Roasts Dennis Weaver

Foster Brooks was a comic actor whose signature “lovable drunk” routine turned slurred dignity, delayed reactions and mock seriousness into a classic roast persona. Dennis Weaver was a television and film actor best known for Gunsmoke, McCloud and a warm, laconic screen persona.

In this clip, Foster Brooks turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Dennis Weaver with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
