About this clip

Foster Brooks Roasts Ralph Nader

Foster Brooks was a comic actor whose signature “lovable drunk” routine turned slurred dignity, delayed reactions and mock seriousness into a classic roast persona. Ralph Nader is a consumer advocate, author and public figure whose reform campaigns and serious public image made him an unusual but recognizable comedy target.

In this clip, Foster Brooks turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Ralph Nader with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
