George Burns
Roasts Frank Sinatra

About this clip

George Burns Roasts Frank Sinatra

George Burns was a vaudeville veteran, comedian and actor whose dry timing, cigar and self-deprecating delivery kept him a star for generations. Frank Sinatra was a legendary singer and actor whose style, fame and larger-than-life public image made him an irresistible roast target.

In this clip, George Burns turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Frank Sinatra with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
