About this clip
Jack Carter Roasts Jerry Lewis - Friars Club
Jack Carter was a fast-talking nightclub and television comic known for aggressive timing, topical jokes and a sharp-edged roast style. Jerry Lewis was a comedian, actor and filmmaker known for his partnership with Dean Martin and his physical comedy.
In this clip, Jack Carter turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Jerry Lewis with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
