About this clip
Joey Bishop Roasts Dean Martin
Joey Bishop was a comedian, actor and talk-show host whose dry delivery and Rat Pack associations made him a familiar presence in television comedy. Dean Martin was a singer, actor and effortlessly relaxed television host whose celebrity roast specials became a showcase for famous comics and entertainers.
In this clip, Joey Bishop turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Dean Martin with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
