Charlie Callas
Roasts Dean Martin

About this clip

Charlie Callas Roasts Dean Martin

Charlie Callas was a rubber-faced comedian known for wild vocal sound effects, physical comedy and frequent appearances on television variety and roast programs. Dean Martin was a singer, actor and effortlessly relaxed television host whose celebrity roast specials became a showcase for famous comics and entertainers.

In this clip, Charlie Callas turns that contrast into roast material, teasing Dean Martin with the affectionate exaggeration and show-business one-upmanship that defined the format.
